Making Postsecondary
Education
Possible in California
For 50 years, Dollars for Scholars has been helping students in communities across America pursue postsecondary education. From Maine to California, more than 40,000 dedicated volunteers devote their time and energy to raising funds, supporting students and making a real difference in the lives of those in their community.
As a part of Scholarship America, the nation’s largest non-profit, private-sector scholarship organization, our job is to help our chapters, our volunteers and our students. We'd invite you to take a look around the site to find out what's new, what's available, and what we can do for you. In addition, we'd love to hear from you – just click here to give us a call or e-mail.
Walk For Education
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2011 Walk for Education 5K on Saturday, November 12 on the campus of Loyola Marymount University in West Los Angeles!
The Walk for Education is a vital initiative to promote educational access in communities across California. Now in its 9th year, the Walk has made a significant impact in the number of scholarships awarded on the grassroots level -- and, in a larger sense, to the lives of all who benefit from the education of our youth. Visit WalkForEducation.org to learn more.
Thanks to 100.3FM The Sound for their support of the walk. Listen below to the public service announcement about the Walk for Education that aired on the station throughout the fall!

Zayla Corona, pictured with her mom Sarah, was awarded $1000 from the Rotary Club of Jurupa, part of Jurupa Valley Dollars for Scholars.
Zayla will be attending the University of California at Riverside, majoring in Biological Sciences, and looking toward a future career in the medical profession. Zayla’s advice to students: "Be passionate about the future."
